Grief is an experience that affects all families, in all cultures and civilizations. It triggers emotional and psychological reactions to the loss of a loved one, often characterized by a complex mixture of sadness, shock, anger and sometimes relief (in the case of long illnesses, for example). It is a completely personal emotion and process, which varies from one person to another, depending on the relationship with the deceased, the circumstances of the death and each person's beliefs. Grief is a personal "path" where the individual builds his psychological environment without the physical presence of the deceased. As with many psychological changes, objects can play an important role in helping this transition. It is in this sense that Memoria Stone, a French and artisanal creation, was designed.

The memory stone is a semi-precious stone, in this case a tiger's eye, which accompanies the deceased during cremation. The purpose of a memory stone is to be returned to families and to constitute a last memory. For protection from very high temperatures, a special envelope accommodates the stone using a unique process (patent pending). The envelope placed in or on the coffin undergoes cremation and is recovered with the urn containing the ashes. Transformed by cremation, the envelope is weakened, which allows the family to break it easily and recover the tiger's eye, which has become a bull's eye (gemmological transformation due to the oxidation of the iron contained in the stone). The shape is not modified, but the high temperatures of cremation modify the color and aesthetics. This stone, transformed by cremation, becomes precious to the family. It can be kept as is, engraved or mounted as jewelry, for example. Everyone makes this object a personal emotional support. Of course, since this is a personal approach, several Memoria Stones can be placed in or on the coffin, allowing everyone to preserve their memory.

The choice of tiger's eye by Memoria Stone is not insignificant. This semi-precious stone carries consistent virtues in lithotherapy. Everyone is free to attribute benefits to stones, but for those who find relevance and comfort in them, tiger's eye is a powerful stone, recognized for its protective and purifying virtues. It acts as a shield against negative energies, helping to dispel fear, stress and emotional blockages. It is also used to relieve physical and emotional tensions, facilitating healing and personal development. Its intense and direct energy makes it a valuable ally for those seeking inner transformation.

Cremation is one of the increasingly chosen methods of caring for bodies after death, for various reasons. Nowadays, cremation is often preferred for its simplicity, its generally lower cost than a traditional burial and its reduced environmental impact. Crematoriums are part of a virtuous ecological approach that tends to improve the environmental impact. The cremation process transforms the body into ashes through intense heat, these ashes are then collected in an urn. Families can choose to place it in a columbarium, an urn cellar, a family burial (vault or open ground) or to disperse its contents (memorial garden, or other places under declarations and authorizations). French law prohibits families from keeping all or part of the ashes at home, from dividing them (or from scattering them anywhere). This is also one of the reasons that led to the creation of Memoria Stone.

Remembering the deceased is a practice deeply rooted in the human psyche. Remembering those who have left us is a way of perpetuating their memory and honoring their existence. The methods for keeping this memory alive are diverse and often recall customs and cultural beliefs. Among the most common are the preservation of photos and videos. Memory stones provide a new, discreet and personal proposition in connection with the ordeal of mourning.

Funeral rituals, whether used on cremation or burial, play a crucial role in the grieving process. They provide a structure and a framework to express pain, sorrow, and possibly find a form of comfort. Participating in these rituals allows the bereaved to say goodbye in a concrete way, to receive support from those around them, and to begin to accept the reality of the loss. The importance of these rituals lies not only in the respect of traditions, but also in their capacity to offer a space for emotional catharsis and the beginning of healing.
